Graphic Design Lead

I was one of the lead graphic designers for the Black and Latino Men’s Summit (BLMS). This organization holds a conference and summit annually, and seeks to bring students from all intersections into a shared space to learn and connect.
I was in charge of creating posters and flyers for the organization. These works were later displayed by the Daily Illini.
These are the two graphics that were distributed as posters, social media posts, and flyers for the BLMS 2021 Summit.
The first image depicts Latin and Black important figures which were selected by the organization. The second image is a visual representation of the years theme of promoting a brighter future.
The style of these works are reminiscent of vibrant and bold political posters.
This is the main poster that was distributed for the BLMS 2020 Summit.
The two figures in the posteer are Cesar Chavez (left) and Martin Luther King Jr. (right). These two figures represent positive change towards Latin and Black communities respectively.
The elements behind the summit represent breaking away from pre-existing ideas that plague these communities, such as toxic masculinity and patriarchal views.
